Battle of the drugstore liquid highlighters | Makeup revolution, Barry M, Maybelline | Cover Fx Custom enhancer drops dupes

I love a good liquid highlighter. They are so universal, and a definite must have in any makeup collection. I love to mix them with my foundations to create a lighter, more luminous base, and I also love applying them on my cheekbones, either leaving them be or topping them with a powder highlighter for the ultimate glow.

Yesterday I picked up two more liquid highlighters to add to my collection. I currently use and adore the Maybelline master strobe, and due to the recent hype over liquid highlighters, I decided to pick up a few more brand new releases to experiment with.

Barry M liquid chrome in Moon Potion, Maybelline master strobe in Pink Iridescent, Makeup Revolution liquid highlighter in Liquid Lustre Gold.

Breakdown:

Barry M - £6.99 / 12ml / Vegan & Cruelty Free
Maybelline - £7.99 / 25ml / NOT Vegan or Cruelty Free
Makeup Revolution - £6.00 /18ml / Not sure about Vegan, but Cruelty Free

Consistency/Formula:

Barry M - Thin, runny and no glitter
Maybelline - Thicker, creamier, no glitter
Makeup Revolution: Thin (probably a tiny bit thicker than Barry M), runny, a little bit of glitter

I love the Maybelline as mentioned - I use it on the regular. I tend to mix it in with my foundations that are more matte, to add some luminosity cos that's more my vibe. I tried the Barry M this morning, and I loved it! It added such a cool sheen on the top of my cheekbones, I really love the blue shift. As for the Makeup Revolution, I haven't tried it. I think it may be a tad too dark, but I'm going to try it out anyway and I'll update you when I have.

*I tried it this morning before this post went live and I love it mixed in with my foundation! It made it so glowy and people at work even asked what foundation I was wearing because it looked nice and dewy!

I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed putting it together. Highlighter is my fave, so it was so much fun to experiment with a few as I tend to stick to my Mary loumanizer from the balm.

I'm looking to get the Soph X Makeup Revolution eye shadow palette and highlighter palette, and I'll definitely do a post when I get those. I wanted to get them on this superdrug trip, but they weren't in my store yet.

Bye for now,
Tamzin xxx
