The BEST chain restaurants to eat at as a Vegetarian/Vegan | #NationalVegetarianWeek

So as you know from my previous post, I recently went Vegetarian. You can see how I did that by clicking here.

When I first went Veggie, I thought one of the biggest struggles would be the eating out part. It is easy to cook without meat or with alternatives at home, but when it comes to eating out there isn't always that much on offer, especially at mainstream restaurants. Today, I thought I would share with you 5 restaurants that you may have not expected to provide excellent Veggie meals.

1. Wagamama

I feel like this one is more obvious as it is spoken about a lot, but Wagamama is absolutely amazing for meat free and Vegan options. They serve many of their dishes with tofu, menaing that you are not just stuck with the Vegetable option. Now, I am a Vegetarian, but I am not a massive fan of all Vegetables, meaning I am unlikely to opt for an all Vegetable dish when eating out. I love it when resturants include Quorn or Tofu for this reason! Wagamama also recently launched their Vegan Katsu Curry, which I am yet to try, but definitely can't wait too.

Check out the menu here, and learn all about their Vegan choices here.

2. Wetherspoons

Wetherspoons, everyone's favourite place to get cheap drinks, is also amazing for food in general, but with it's abundance of Veggie and Vegan options, it's not one to forget about. My personal favourite is either the Sweet potato, Chickpea and Spinach curry (Vegan!) or the Grilled halloumi and Sweet chilli wrap. Both are so tasty and not comprised on flavour at all.

Check out their menu here.

3. Cielo Blanco, Leeds Trinity

I was going to not include location specific places in the post, mainly because I want it to be acsessible to all, and I am planning on doing a Sheffield specific one anyway. However, I just had to tell you about Cielo Blanco. It has been one of my favourite restaurants for the longest time anyway, their food is so delicious. I went recently for my first time as a Veggie, and the cheese quesadillas were so yummy, along with their infamous sweet potato fries. Their sweet potato fries come with a JalapeƱo dip which honestly, I could eat bucket loads of.

Check out their menu here

4. Nandos

Nandos?! Nandos?! The home of chicken? Well you'll be pleased to know that the firm favourite does actually have some Veggie options! These include Halloumi sticks, Sweet potato and Butternut wrap/pitta/burger, Supergreen wrap/pitta/burger, Portobello mushroom and Halloumi wrap/pitta/burger, Beanie wrap/pitta/burger, the Veggie Cataplana, Supergrain salad, Quinoa salad, Mediterranean salad, Mixed leaf salad, Spicy rice, Spicy chips, Mash, Sweet potato wedges, Chargrilled veg, the list goes on... They accomadate way more than I thought and expected, and I think all the indivual items on the menu are interesting and not generic Veggie dishes. Kudos! Quite a few of the meals mentioned above are Vegan too.

Check out their menu here.

5. Pizza Express

Even though I feel like this one is quite obvious, you could just get a plain cheese or Vegetable pizza afterall, it is worth noting Pizza Express' recent incorporation of Vegan dishes. They serve a Vegan pizza at the majority of their resturants I believe, and if not, they allow you to take your own dairy free cheese for them to make it for you. I think this is a step forward, and something cool to consider. They offer a wide range of different kinds of Veggie pizza, not just your typical Vegetable supreme. Not only this, they have other Veggie dishes such as a Lasagne, Cannelloni, Rigitone and a superfood salad.

Check out their menu here.

Here are a few more places that do great Veggie/Vegan options:

Byron Burger

Zizzi
Itsu
Pizza Hut
Las Iguanas
Giraffe
Leon
Yo Sushi
Ask Italian
Bella Italia
Mcdonalds
Burger King (I may do a whole Fast Food post?! Subway and so many others do good options)
TGI Friday's

And so many more!

It was hard limiting myself for this post. There are so many other places I could have included, if you know any more let me know!

Bye for now,
Tamzin xxx
