My first time in the gym... | Update #1 | #AD

I went to the gym today, for the first time in YEARS! I have actually been to that exact gym before, I had a membership a few years ago, but didn't stick with it for all that long. I was surprised my self with how much I enjoyed it, so I thought I'd give you the deets.

The gym I went to was Aston-cum-Aughton leisure centre, which is relatively close to where I live. I walked there, it took about 30 minutes to do so, before spending 1 hour in the actual gym. I firstly went on the treadmill, for half an hour, switching between power walking and jogging. I then changed to the bike, where I rode for about another half an hour. I propped up my phone, watched YouTube videos and listened to music whilst I was exercising. This actually made it more enjoyable than I was expecting. The Aston-Cum-Aughton gym is a places for people studio if you were wondering!

I then walked home, and on my way I nipped into the Co-Op to pick up some healthy snacks. I am working in Derby tomorrow, which means I'm getting the train in, and I wanted to have some bits on hand to make sure I had something nutritious and not just what I could find in a rush. The Co-Op provided, and I bought a broccoli and spring onion Thai rice for tomorrow's lunch, a nakd bar and some raisins for snacks, either for the journey or throughout the day.

It's only day one of my journey so far, but I am feeling motivated and inspired to work out and eat better. I am in a positive mindset right now and I can really see how this is going to improve not just my wellbeing, but my quality of life as a whole.

I am liking having the freedom to be able to choose where I want to work out or how I want to do so, as that comes with the Move GB membership. I can see how this will prevent exercise or working out from becoming mundane, and I can't wait to experience the variety that #MoveGB truly has to offer. #MoveGBSheffield has so many studios, there's so much choice! Any suggestions on what I should try next? Yoga? HIIT? Pilates? Swimming?
