Spring Things

I It is finally spring, and I thought the best way to celebrate would be to show you some Spring Things I have captured over the past couple of weeks or so. Let's begin!

Saying goodbye to baths and hello to...

Gorgeous flowers! Wild ones and this gorgeous bunch spotted in a friend's house.

And wearing some beautiful faux ones in my hair!

My bunny Stuart enjoying the rare Spring sunshine.

Enjoying brisk walks in the average weather!

Having wavy hair! I think it is so Spring appropriate. I mean, you can have wavy hair at any time of the year but I especially think it sings Spring!

Blossom appearing everywhere.

Enjoying wearing my Spring makeup: Glowy skin, bushy brows, simple eyes and a pink lip!

And finally celebrating Easter day with lots of yummy goodies, including my creme egg rocky road.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post. I have been so excited for Spring, it is my birthday season. I am 16 at the end of April and there are many exciting things happening around then, not just IRL but for my blog too! EEEEK.

Drugstore makeup haul

I did a little bit of Drugstore makeup shopping yesterday and I thought that I would show you what I got! I went into Superdrug armed with a list of the items I wanted to pick up, and I came out with only a few of them as my Superdrug as running very low on stock. Anyhow, I hope you like seeing what I have bought, all items will be linked so you can easily find them.

The first thing I picked up was the Collection primed & ready primer. It claims to be illuminating and reviving, which called out to me as my dry skin can often leave me looking a little dull and flat. I got mine in the shade Warm apricot. They also have a Cool rose shade, which I thought was really good for an affordable primer as this way it is more suitable for a variety of skin tones. It cost £4.99 and you can get it here.

The second things I bought were 3 items from Bourjois as they had the 3 for 2 offer on. I got the healthy mix foundation in the shade 52. I originally wanted to get the serum version but they didn't have my shade, but I think it was actually a blessing in disguise as it is looking like I need the higher coverage at the moment. It was £10.99. I also got the matching concealer. I really like to match my foundation and concealer as I have found they often work really well together. The concealer was £8.99. Finally, I got the bronzer as my free item, but it would have been £7.99. I have heard good things about this bronzer so I am very excited to give it a go. Click on the prices to see where you can find them!

Thirdly I picked up an eye-shadow from L'oreal. It is one of their infallible pigments, and I got mine in the shade Endless Chocolate. It is a deep, rich brown with a golden sparkle running through it. It swatches beautifully and I can't wait to use it. Click the shade to find it on Amazon! I actually picked this eye-shadow up from Extras, a shop on the lanes at Meadowhall.

And finally the last thing I got was the Rimmel extra 3D lash mascara. I have actually had this for like a week or so now, so I have tried it out. It is okay. It doesn't do anything exceptional but at the same time it isn't bad. It is quite natural looking and it doesn't look clumpy, it feels quite soft on the lashes. You can find it here.

That is all for this blog post, but I am eyeing up some other drugstore products, so if you'd like to see another drugstore haul in the near future then let me know!

My Mac Palette

Today's post is quite a highly anticipated one. As some of you may know, I got a full 15 pan custom Mac eye-shadow palette for Christmas after months of planning out my dream selection. I have teased the idea of doing this post since I got it, but I have never known how to go about it and what to include. I am not going to include swatches in today's post, but if you would like to seem some, be sure to comment and I will do just that when I get my new camera, as I think they will be easier to shoot when I have it.

Onto the shadows!

Top row: Sable, Nylon, Antiqued, Omega, Cranberry
Middle row: Quarry, Naked Lunch, Patina, Sketch, Amber Lights
Bottom row: Club, Sumptuous Olive, Satin Taupe, Espresso, Trax

Asking me to pick a favourite is like asking a mother to pick their favourite child, however, my favourite is probably Sable. I love them all so much, yet this one stands out as it is the perfect bronze that leans more on the rosier side, which is not too dark and looks amazing all over the lid. It is also amazing for blue eyes which I have. I also love Nylon for highlighting and Omega for a light transition. Antiqued is again so beautiful, just like Cranberry... and all the others!!! If you are starting out, the four I have to recommend are Nylon, Naked Lunch, Sable and Omega. My babies.

I hope you enjoyed this post, I am so in love with these shadows. They are blendable, smooth and the choice of colours is phenomenal. I really do recommend Mac eye shadows, for the choice of colours if not anything else. But they are really great.

On Saturday, my blog reached 5000 views.

As you can see, I am crap at drawing.

As I am writing this on Wednesday night, I now have over 5100 views on my blog. Bearing in mind I hit 5000 on Saturday and haven't posted a new blog post since, is pretty crazy. People are beginning to view my blog when I am not even posting, which to me is so surreal. I remember when I first started blogging, and I would only get a few views per post and no body was that interested. People now could still not care about it, but from the numbers, it looks like things could be going quite well. However, it has never been about the numbers for me. You can see me explain that in my "1000" blog post, which seems so long ago now. Yet, I only hit that at the end of October, so, in 4 months I have times by viewership by 5 and I am pretty damn pleased. Like I said, it's not really about the number. It is what that number represents. It represents my growth. Not just as a blogger, but as a person. Someone who has changed a considerable amount and somebody who had learnt so much from writing posts on the internet about making milkshakes or autumn themed lipsticks. Its astonishing. Blogging has brought me friends, fun, adventure, love and comfort. It has brought me to realise the significance of your words and the significance of the internet, and more specifically, your internet presence. How I write, and how I put myself across in my long rambly posts is ME. It is not false nor fake or irrelevant words that I just write to sound like a certain person or gain viewers. It is words that come from my heart about things I feel passionate about, whether that be mental health or the newest eye shadow palette.

5000 is a number. A number that may seem small to you and big to me. A number that represents not only my growth as mentioned previously but all the people that read these posts. All the people that read and enjoy and leave a nice comment, all the people that I am so grateful for. This blog, TamzinLena, is an archive, a place where I talk about whatever the bleep I want, a place where I am me and nobody can tell me how I should talk, speak or feel. I am so thankful for blogging in general, it has changed my life. I am not using those words lightly, I genuinely mean it has changed my life. It has made me see things different and appreciate the small things more, as well as loving the inter webs and feeling lucky that I can open up whilst not having to have an awkward encounter with someone. Thank you, I'm not sure who I am really thanking, perhaps whoever invented blogging and the owner of blogger and my mum for birthing me and the guy who invented the internet and everyone who is reading this right now, for making me happier, just from blogging.

Here is some awkward shots of me trying to be arty.

Quote of the day:

I am going to leave it here or I will be typing and expressing my feelings for hours on end, rambling as I usually do. Just, thanks again, for the love, support and kind words. You, as well as my blog, has changed my life. So thanks. You're pretty cool.
